Our Client, A major telecoms provider has got an opening for a OSS Back office Engineer to join their IT Operations to maintain all operational OSS systems to maximise their availability, resilience and performance, transition OSS systems, upgrades and new deployments into production that are operationally ready, fit for purpose and have the appropriate level of documentation. The OSS Back Office Engineer will also share knowledge and cross train skills within the OSS team to maximise the overall team effectiveness and drive quality improvements that provide class leading OSS solutions in a multi disciplined, multi customer Mobile Telecoms environment. Responsibilities* Implement and support the integration of Operational Support Systems in the IT and IP domains* Responsible for day to day monitoring and support for IT OSS* Implement routine and emergency configuration changes on Operational Support Systems including on-call, out of hours changes* Implement routine maintenance and housekeeping changes on Operational Support Systems.* Assist in the acceptance process into service operation* Responsible for developing and improving processes and procedures and ensuring that they are adhered to.* Production of periodic pre-defined reports* Contribute to Ericsson's quality processes and strive to achieve continuous improvement* Fault management and escalation of faults including use of bespoke trouble ticketing application without compromising agreed service levels and business priorities.* Continuous self development/understanding of current and future technologies* User and systems administration of OSS applications ensuring security policies are adhered to* Contribute to development of operational and design policies and processes* Provide input in to strategy process for platform and environment development* Effectively manage the delivery of designated assignments/projects* Provide recommendations for increasing stability and availability within current environmentExperience:* Minimum of three years experience working as part of an OSS technical support team in an operational environment.* Demonstrable support knowledge of EMC Smarts / IONIX + Sev One* Demonstrable support knowledge of HP Openview suite of products* Strong knowledge of UNIX (HP-UX, Solaris), Linux, Shell Scripting, plus Wintel platform support* Good knowledge of Oracle, SQL, Perl scripting and IP networks* Bachelor Degree level or equivalent experience
