Senior Database Administrator - MS SQL 2008, SSAS, SSIS, SSRS, ODBC, JDBC, INVESTMENT BANK - £ATTRACTIVE
A new opportunity with the UK arm of a leading International Investment Bank. The Principal Database Administrator will provide production and development support for all database applications. This includes back up & recovery, performance analysis, data management and user / developer assistance. The Principal DBA will also be responsible for database connectivity using ODBC, JDBC or vendor specific architectures. The Principal DBA will also be responsible for developing and maintaining the monitoring suite of software used to automate the maintenance and reporting from all database servers within the bank.
Having experience of working as a senior DBA within an Investment Bank, technically you must meet the following criteria:
1. Experienced in MS SQL Server Database Administration - MS SQL Server 2008 and 2005 essential. 2. Current experience of SQL Server Integration Services, Reporting Services and Analysis Services essential. 3. Programming experience including Transact SQL, Stored Procedures, Web Served methodologies. 4. Experience of Windows XP & Server 2003/2008 operating systems. 5. Current Experience of supporting business critical applications and servers. 6. Sybase 12.5 & 15.0 / Oracle 10.2 administration and Development. 7. Experience of working with Sybase Replication server version 12.6 or higher would be an advantage. 8.Experience of Unix scripting languages (Perl, KSH). 9. Experience on RedHat Linux version 4 or higher would be a big plus.
