Connect44 has a 6+ month contract opportunity available based in Reading, UK. We are looking for an experienced 2G BSS Back Office Engineer with experience with 2G Ericsson and Nortel equipment.
 
Overall Job description





Work as part of a team and provide third level (expert) support to Ericsson & Nortel 2G RAN products. This includes BSC/TCU/BTS and all associated product improvements and in-service performance on these platforms.




 
Responsibilities





Manage system in service performance of the Nortel & Ericsson 2G RAN by providing third (expert) level support, to resolve complex faults in a timely manner.Ensure that knowledge transfer takes place within and outside the Back Office Support team to support new products, platforms and services for Nortel/Ericsson RAN.Support pilot activities and work with all the relevant internal & external agencies to ensure all service-affecting issues are resolved by end of pilot phases.Work with RAN performance & Front office teams to refine the alarms deliveredEnsure all 2G RAN faults (tickets) raised & received are dealt with in a prompt an efficient manner and meet the relevantSLAtargets.Be responsible for the testing & implementation of software maintenance releases, working closely with external companies like MBNL & vendor company support.Liaise with teams such as Front Office and RAN-P to ensure that KPI targets are maintained and formulate any action plans to improve.Provide 24x7 Back Office support to the Front Office (using call out)
