Our client has a new opportunity for a 3G Radio Test Engineer working in a testbed performing Node B and RNC testing. Primarily the 3G Radio Test Engineer will be responsible for the testing of 3G radio functionality, including analysis of test results, tracking and resolution of faults, working closely with the vendor and co-ordination, management and implementation of acceptance testing with vendors. The Engineer will also be expected to lead and manage Radio Test projects.
Together with a minimum of 3 years experience in an operator testbed environment, the 3G Radio Engineer must possess most of the following key skills:
Good understanding of Radio (ideally UMTS or GSM) standards and technologyTest tools, e.g. spectrum analysers, signal generators, Tekelec, Net-Hawk, protocol analysers, 2G/3G test setsSolid IT skillsEducated to Degree level (or similar) in a technical disciplineRadio parametersFamiliar with existing digital mobile radio systems and standardsRF testingKnowledge of IP Transmission networksATM switching, AAL2, AAL5WCDMA/3G air interface standardsKnowledge of NSN software and hardware upgrades, and release testingThe Engineer must be prepared to work weekends, late shifts and be fully flexible
